Sous Chef
Brief Job Description
Mt Hawley Country Club is looking for a talented, dedicated and hard working professional Sous Chef to join the Mt Hawley family to aid in creating memorable, enjoyable experiences for our beloved members. As an assistant to the Mt Hawley Executive Chef, the Sous Chef will assist in all back of house operations. This includes, but is not limited to, menu planning, inventory, managing supplies and more. The Sous Chef is responsible for directing and planning food preparation in the Mt Hawley kitchen. Helps ensure that the kitchen is up to safety standards and that staff members are obeying sanitation and safety.
The Mt Hawley dining room is open Tuesday through Saturday for lunch and dinner services. There are various Sundays and Mondays throughout the calendar year that are dedicated to special events.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Preparing food and meals to meet the specific needs and requests of the guests in a timely manner
- Properly measuring kitchen ingredients and food portions
- Ensuring kitchen staff adheres to set standards, procedures, department rules and sanitation requirements
- Using kitchen knives and equipment such as grills, ovens, and warmers in food preparation
- Managing kitchen inventory and ensuring supplies are fresh and of high quality
- Ensuring proper food temperatures when cooking and proper storage of food afterwards
- Keeping the work station clean, organized and sanitized
- Taking charge of kitchen opening, closing and other side duties as directed by the Executive Chef
- Ability to work varied hours/days, including nights, weekends and holidays as needed
